Does that describe you? Would you like to learn how to run? Have you tried before, but failed? Have you never run a step in your adult life and are afraid to try?
All of those runners you see dashing by every day, almost all of them are having fun. They are NOT huffing and puffing and expending every ounce of energy they have on their daily run. They are NOT in pain, nor are they out of breath. They are running at the correct pace for their current fitness level, and they are enjoying themselves.
It sounds strange: to be receiving instruction for something that came naturally when we were kids. But running as an adult is different. Successful running can be derailed by a number of things, and a coach can help you avoid learning about them “the hard way.”
So, could this be you? Do you need someone to show you how to gauge your correct pace, customize a training plan just for you, to help you set goals, and help you succeed in attaining those goals? If you do, a running coach may be just what you need.
Procedure: For beginners, I prefer face-to-face coaching, but will accommodate you this is not possible (See Contact Information & Rates page).
We begin with the questionnaire and the Consent & Release forms. Download these two documents on the Contact Information & Rates page, fill them out and send them to me. Send no money at that time. Through the questionnaire, I get to know your goals, your likes and dislikes, your schedule, your current fitness level... In this way, your training plan can be personalized for you, meeting your needs.
After the questionnaire, a phone call completes the information gathering. I can begin your training plan when we both can see where you want to be. You will receive instructions and a training plan written just for you with details about each and every run.
Injury, work schedules, sick kids, etc can all impact your training. If needed, your training plan can be revised to work around whatever life throws your way.
Support: Phone calls during business hours on weekdays; and unlimited email support all the time.

My favorite ad for running shoes shows a lovely, slender lady at a café table. Visible at the top of the frame are the feet of a runner dashing by. The slender café lady stares wistfully at the runner and says to herself, “Wish I could do that.” |
